For those not on the Yahoo Group for this Club. It looks like they are trying to arrange a Bring and Buy at their next meeting, which is the 21st of June. I haven't been to one of theirs before, but if you are in the neighbourhood it may be worth a look. One mans trash is another's treasure and all that, or maybe more accurately One mans unfinished project is another's Obsession, or One mans half finished army is another's unfinished project. I believe they are also having a big Napoleonic game in 6mm on the day, so it might be worth a look. I will update it here when I know it is confirmed.

Its definitely happening. Details on the webpage here awc.wargaming.info/2015/bring-and-buy-event/#.VX5eYJUVhMsThere is a map of the location on the clubs website, at the bottom of the front page. I will be popping along for a look, you never know what there will be to tempt me out of my limited pocket money. I've also thought it might be worth running one ourselves, over the Labour weekend tournament? I would be interested in peoples thoughts if it was worthwhile to do.

I've just received notification of another Bring and Buy happening on the same day. Auckland City Guard are holding one on Sunday from 1 o'clock. The address is Freemans Bay Community Centre 52 Hepburn Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand 1011 This link might work www.facebook.com/events/475142249318530/Probably be mostly Board Games and GW stuff, but if you are in the neighbourhood it could be worth a look.

I went along to both of the Bring and Buys today.
AWC had some interesting bits and pieces, I was tempted by an unopened blister of Foundry Mtd French Dragoons, but for about the same price as the guy wanted I could get a couple of sprues of the plastic Perry ones. So I thought Nah, I don't need these and put them back. They had 4 games going, Kings of War, 25/28mm Ancients, something else (Probably more ancients) and their big Waterloo game. The Waterloo game was on a big board, but at 6mm its just not that visually interesting. It might as well be a board game. I guess I am just a bit shallow, only interested in the looks!
City Guard is a funny beast, it really is a board game club these days, admittedly I got there not long after it started so only the board gamers were set up, but its pretty cramped in the room, very noisy, and not really any room for a proper wargaming table. You certainly couldn't just turn up with a friend and expect to use a table to play. It wasn't really set up with Bring and Buy stuff either, there was one guy unloading some bits, but I really couldn't be bothered to wait around and see if there was anything else, so I left, wallet contents intact!
It was good to visit both clubs, as it made me realise that the facility we have in Pukekohe is actually very good, twice the floor space of the AWC, and probably the NSWC too, 4-5 times the space that City Guard has, the lighting is good, the car parking is good, even with the amount of people and the big boards we had set up a couple of meetings ago it didn't feel cramped. We just need a few more people to come along regularly to help pay the bills.
