I had a great day at the Drury wargaming club on Saturday. I got to join in with a huge English Civil War game.
There must have been at least a thousand miniatures on each side, on a table 6ft x 20ft. The Royalists had six players against the Parliamentarians five. I was given command of the Parliamentarian cavalry on the left flank. Three brigades lined up opposite three brigades of Royalist cavalry and a couple of cannons. Even though one of my brigades refused to engage, we destroyed the opposing cavalry and began rolling up the enemy flank just as the Royalist resistance collapsed.
I had a fantastic time with a great bunch of guys who were more than happy to help out a newb who had never played the system. I am looking forward to attending the next meeting in January.

The English civil war is a very interesting period in history, it must have been quite something to see all those models arrayed on the table. I actually have some warlord 28mm ECW figures myself, may I ask what rule system you guys using?
Did you take any photos?

I think it was the Pike And Shot rules by Warlord Games.
A lot of photos were taken by the other players but I forgot to take my camera.

Any chance the details of the Drury Club could be posted on the forum? Location, meeting dates, that sort of thing.
